High Performance Carbine

Course Description and Requirements

This course is for the shooter who wants to push their speed and accuracy with the carbine in close quarters distances and competitive environments. A basic working knowledge of how to use a carbine is expected, as is safe gun handling.

This course will cover and demonstrate:

  • Deliberate load sequence

  • Ready positions

  • Recoil management

  • Shooting on the move

  • Negotiating obstacles

  • Developing speed and efficiency

Required Equipment

  • 500 rounds rifle ammunition

  • Carbine, AR type or similar

  • At least 3 carbine magazines

  • IFAK; tourniquet at minimum

  • Eye protection (sunglasses or prescription eyeglasses are acceptable)

  • Ear protection, preferably electronic

  • Note taking gear

  • Sunscreen

  • Seasonally appropriate clothing

  • Hat

  • Water and food (bring a lunch)

  • Good attitude, and anything else required to facilitate your learning
